BASIC OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FOR MAIN SCREENS

Checklist Selection Screen:

  • Checklists are grouped into three categories:
    • Trip/Maint Lists: Active Trip checklists and Maintenance lists created from Master Lists.
    • Personal Checklists: Additional checklists that you create.
    • Master Lists: Available master lists (used for trips/maint) that can be edited.
  • Tap a checklist name will result in the selection of this checklist to view.
  • Tap the white button to the right of Categories to expand and show all available checklists for this category.
  • Create button on Trip/Maint Lists(s) line used to Create a new Trip/Maint checklist and explained in Help selection: Creating A Trip/Maint.
  • Options button displays a pop up of available options (refer to Options Selection Screen).
  • i Symbol upper right and used to display Instructional information for using this App … which you are using now I hope :)

Detail Checklist Display

  • Tap an item will result in a check mark and dimming of the item. Tap again to uncheck.
  • Tap on a category heading under the Current Groups Quick Jumps down to the selected category. Tap the Category name to Quick Jump back to the beginning.. or Scroll up or down by sliding up or down with your fingers.
  • Items are grouped into common categories.
  • <Return button will return to the Checklist Selection Screen, which shows all checklists available.
  • Options button displays a pop up of current available options (refer to Options Selection Screen).
  • i Symbol upper right is used to display Instructional information for this App.
  • Check Symbol upper left .. When symbol is shown the checked items will disappear instead of showing with a check mark on each item.  To change this action use the Options button to Hide/Display Checked Items.

HOW TO CREATE A TRIP LIST OR MAINTENANCE TODO FROM MASTER LIST

Below are the steps to Create a Trip/Maint checklist:

  • From the Checklist Selection screen push the button called Create located on the line called Trip/Maint List(s).
  • A smaller screen in green appears called Create a Trip/Maint with the following options:
    • Type Name field: Use the keyboard that also appears to type the name for your Trip or Maintenance To Do list. This will become the checklist name. Press the Return key on the keyboard when done typing.
    • Select Master To Use selection wheel: Scroll up & down to find the Master Checklist to be used to select items for the trip/maint.
    • Done: Button to press once completed the steps above.
    • Cancel: At any point this button will cancel the Create trip/maint process.
  • The master list will now appear .. Tap each item you want to take on the trip or maint. work on the RV. Items selected will now have a green circle with a white cross. Press a selected item again and it will undo selection.
  • Done button completes the create process and now shows a checklist of just the items you selected.
  • Cancel button will cancel the Create process..

CHECKLIST SELECTION SCREEN - OPTIONS

These are the options when the Options key is pressed from the Checklist Selection Screen:

  • Add,Del,Chng,Copy: Allows Adding, Deleting, Changing and Copying of checklists.
    • Add - Push the green plus sign to select where to add.  Next an input text field is displayed for you to fill in a new list name.
    • Delete - Push the red minus sign and select Delete when it appears.
    • Change - Allows for editing an existing list name.  Push the plus sign and the edit field appears with the existing name for you to change.
    • Copy - Allows a checklist to be copied into a new checklist.  Push the green plus to select the checklist to copy.  Then fill in the input screen for the new list name.
  • Exchange Checklists (In/Out):  This will result in a pop up options menu. You can select to eMail, AirPrint, AirDrop, Bluetooth Exchange or Import checklists. Please refer to the Info topic screen called "Exchanging Checklists" for more detail about this option.
  • Backup or Restore:  This will result in a pop up options menu. You can select to either Backup, Restore, or Delete a checklist from the backup folder within the app.
    • Backup - Push Select Option Backup button and then choose which checklist to backup.
    • Restore - Push Select Options Restore button and then choose which checklist to restore from the backup folder. If the checklist exists already the app will ask if you want to replace it with the backup checklist.
    • Delete - Push Select Options Delete button and then choose which checklist to delete from the backup folder.
    • NOTE: Backup To a Computer - If you attach your device to iTunes and go to the Apps tab and then to File Sharing, and then click this app … you will see the BACKUP folder. Move this onto your computer to save. If needed move checklists from within the BACKUP folder back into the app or edit the checklist with a spreadsheet program. See web site for more details.
  • User Preferences: A pop up window will appear of preferences. You can then make changes in how the app will appear and/or behave.

DETAIL CHECKLIST SCREEN - OPTIONS

These are the options when the Options key is pressed from a Detail Checklist Screen:

  • Add , Del., Chg., Copy, Paste:
    • Add: Allows the addition of new items.  Push the green plus sign to select where to add.  Next an input text field is displayed for you to fill in.
    • Change: Allows for editing an existing item.  Push the plus sign and the edit field appears with the existing item for you to change.
    • Delete: Deletes items from list.  Push the red minus sign and select Delete when it appears.
    • Copy: Allows any Group to be copied. Press the plus sign on the group to copy. Then select the Paste option.
    • Paste: After a Copy of a Group select the plus sign where you want the copied group to appear. It will go in front of the Group you selected. You can Copy from one checklist and paste on any other.
    • (NOTE: Items can be moved to other groups by pressing the 3 dash symbol on the right of an item and sliding the item up or down).
  • Oops! Forgot Item:
    • This option will display the full Master list used to create this Trip.
    • Items that were selected before are pre checked. New items that are not on the master will appear with a yellow plus in the green dot.
    • Proceed as you did when creating the Trip then Done to complete changes or Cancel to cancel this option.
    • Options button at this point will show ….Clear Current Selections to clear all previous selections …. Select All Items to select all Master list items.
  • Move Groups:  Displays the group names, which can be moved up or down as explained in the above NOTE.
  • Clear Item Info:
    • A pop up window will appear with a number of selections. Press the one to Clear out the information indicated from the entire checklist.
  • Hide/Display Checked Items:
    • Select hide so that all checked items will disappear from the active list. To reset select Display to still show checked items.

CHECKLIST EXCHANGES IN / OUTFROM APP

This Checklist app can be used to exchange checklists via one of the following methods:

  • Email a checklist to anyone.
  • AirPrint to local printers that support AirPrint.
  • AirDrop between devices that Apple supports for AirDrop feature.
  • Bluetooth Exchange of a checklist between Apple devices (device must be Bluetooth capable).
  • Import / Export a checklist to/from your PC. Once in your PC you can move the checklist to another of my apps (devices must be at iOS 4.0 or better … iPad at iOS 3.2 or better).

TO START:

  • From the Checklist Selection menu touch Exchange Lists - OUT or Exchange Lists - IN, depending on type of exchange.
  • Pop up will display showing the various exchange options.
  • Push button on the desired option and then additional info needed will show below.

Below are the steps to accomplish each type of exchange:

1. Email a Checklist

  • After selecting the eMail option select the Checklist to email.
  • Press Execute button.
  • Touch the To: and type in an email address for the person you are sending the checklist.
  • Push the Send button and the list is sent.

2. AirPrint a Checklist

  • After selecting the AirPrint option select the Checklist to print.
  • Press Execute button.
  • Another Pop Up will occur and ask you to select the printer, range and number of copies.
  • Push the Print button and the list will be sent to the selected printer.

3. AirDrop a Checklist (Only Available On Newer Devices)

  • SENDING DEVICE:
    • Select Options, Exchange Lists - OUT, and press AirDrop.
    • Select the Checklist to AirDrop and then press Done.
    • Display will now show available devices near you capable of AirDrop.
    • Tap the device.
  • RECEIVING DEVICE:
    • Make sure it is available and on.
    • AirDrop Decline/Receive message after sending from above steps.
    • Press Accept and now select which Checklist app to Open.
    • App will open and show message that task has completed.
    • At some point when using the app select Options, Exchange Lists - IN, and AirDrop.
    • Press Done and the checklist will be moved to your active lists.
    • NOTE: If a same name checklist exists the app will ask first before replacing with the sent list.

4. Bluetooth Exchange

STEP 1

  • After selecting the Bluetooth Between Devices option pick the Checklist to send.a sub screen will be displayed. 
  • Select Bluetooth Between Devices on the other iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch you will be exchanging with .. don't worry about which checklist is selected.

STEP 2

  • Once both devices recognize each other the screen on the right will appear, showing available devices in Bluetooth range.
  • Touch the name of the device you wish to transfer with.

STEP 3

  • Once both devices recognize each other a sub screen appear on the device you will be receiving the checklist.
  • Touch Accept on the receiving device.

STEP 4

  • Once both devices recognize each other a green sub screen will indicate this status.
  • Touch OK on both devices.
  • NOTE: If the checklist already exists on the receiving device you will asked to type a new name or accept the existing name. IMPORTANT - Accepting the existing name will replace the checklist in full on the receiving device.

5. Import (Only Used For Importing Previous Version Checklists if needed)

  • Tether your device to your PC.
  • On the PC activate the iTunes program.
  • Select under DEVICES category the device you tethered.
  • On the iTunes tab line select Apps.
  • Scroll down until you see the section called File Sharing.
  • Click the app name you are exporting from and a screen will appear on the Right.
  • Drag a checklist you previously exported onto the File Share window.
  • Go into the checklist app under Checklist Selection screen, Edit, eMail Import Export and select Export Checklist.
  • The checklist will be checked for proper formatting.
  • At this point if all was OK a green sub screen will appear indicating Task Has Completed. If not a yellow warning will appear indicating the problem.

 

NOTE: Importing and Exporting can now be accomplished by editing .csv file on your computer via the following steps:

  • Tether your device to your PC.
  • On the PC activate the iTunes program.
  • Select under DEVICES category the device you tethered.
  • On the iTunes tab line select Apps.
  • Scroll down until you see the section called File Sharing.
  • Click the app name you are exporting from and a list of files available for export appears on the Right.
  • Now click on the checklist and drag it to your desktop.
  • Use any Spreadsheet program to Edit
  • Now take the saved checklist OR a new one you created in the spreadsheet program and drag onto the File Share window.
  • Go into the checklist app under Checklist Selection screen the checklist will be there.
  • The checklist will be checked for proper formatting when selected.
